Accepting Credit Cards :: Transaction Monitoring

  • You should perform the following monitoring on credit card transactions
    • Look for returns or charge backs. This is where the cardholder has disputed the charge. A large number of these might indicate that your site is being used for fraudulent activities. A large percentage of these might also subject you to additional fees from the bank.
    • Perform daily reconciliations between what your local system is recording and the bank is posting. Cash management can provide online tools that will help you do this.
